As opportunities present themselves I continue to paint the scenes around me. I always struggle when winter sets in and must bring myself indoors because of the rain in the Pacific Northwest. This year has been busy with other activities like work outside of art. I also have learned how to cut my own frames so I no longer have that expense for my little plein air paintings. The purchase of a miter saw was the best thing I have done for quite a while. But the painting I am most excited about is the landscape I love and have done recently. This is 30x48, a scene that I love so near to my home. I had to think about the best way to portray the scene using the colors warm and cool to give it interest.

Wow! This is beautiful! I have been toying with the idea of making my own frames too. I am looking forward to having a few chats about that!
